what years fall into the category of early/mid/late 00's?

My friends and I couldn't decide what years in this decade could be referred to as either early 00's, mid 00's or late 00's.

    Here's what I'm thinking...
    00-02 are definately early,
    08-09 are definately late,
but the rest of the years don't seem right

07 should be late but seems more middle-ing for some reason
03 seems early but mathematically its more in the middle of the decade :pac:

Anybody have any suggestions as to what the right answer is :pac:

    03 seems early

That's because it was the year you were born in, son.

What an important question well horse. I'm very glad you asked it.

Now to really get to the heart of the matter we're first going to have to define what a 'year' is.

Well a 'year' is the amount of time it takes the Earth to make one revolution around the Sun.

But what is this Earth and Sun we're hearing about now?

Hmmmm.... The Earth is the third planet from the Sun, and the largest of the terrestrial planets in the Solar System in terms of diameter, mass and density.

There's that pesky Sun again. What in darnation is it? Let's investigate further.

Looks like The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System.

Right. Well that solves that mystery. So eh..... I'm sorry what was the question again?

This is why Ireland and the world is due for an even worse recession in a few years.

Ireland's future is as a 'knowledge economy', ask my cojones.

Roll on September and the return of school.

I say leave well horse alone. You know you all have these kinds of discussions (or even more pointless ones) with your mates in the pub when you're all feeling a little happy.:p

Okay well here is how I work out ages

    20,21,22,23, Early twenties
24,25,26 Mid Twenties (My age bracket)
    27,28,29 Late twenties

I suppose you could apply that to years aswell.....

    You tell 'em Mel!

And to the rest. Even if I was a fool, how could you judge my whole age group as being fools also? Bertie drove this country to the ground with its attitude of wanten waste and complete irresponsibility while the moneybags were bursting; people like him cause recessions, not people like me.

Also, no dorks round here young phasers, ya mad man :pac:

So, reference to Nazis = To Godwin a thread.

What's a reference to Fianna Fail driving the country into the ground called?

    To Bertie a thread?
To FiannaFail a thread? (pronounced FAIL)
    To Ahernwin a thread?

    Anyone?

I think mid should have the four years. Take one from early.

Wait a minute WTF are we even talking about this for?!

So who's going to call 2010, 'twenty-ten' and who's gonna call it 'two thousand and ten'?

    I'm gonna go for 'twenty-ten'.

    Can't wait!

Are you actually saying these words?

07 seems "middling" because it was two years ago.
03 seems early because it is early.

    Eh?

I suspect it will go to twenty-x in 2011 since eleven has too many syllables to make it worth while saying 'two thousand'. It will definitely change come 2012 as the London olympics are being marketed as the twenty-twelve olympics.

I'm gonna start calling 2009, 'twenty oh nine' too. It might be a bit late but I'd say I'd be able to make it catch on worldwide.

...When old age shall this generation waste,
Thou shalt remain, in midst of other woe
Than ours, a friend to man, to whom thou sayst,
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty," -that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.

Some overlapping is required. Early is 00-04, mid is 03-08, late is 07-09.

    God I hate pedants.

I just wish it'd hurry up and get to the 2020 so we can have a name for the decade again. Only arseholes call our current decade the 'noughties,' and I have no idea what the years 2010-2019 are supposed to be termed.
