    He is 26 and basically doesn't exist in normal terms you could say . The only ID he has is a passport, doesn't have a bank account etc.

    He has never worked a job in his life where he has paid PRSI or registered with anyone etc(doing gigs is the only income he gets)

    He isn't arsed going down but I was wondering if he did would he be entitled to anything?

    Technically your mate must be actively seeking employment to qualify. He may qualify for JA depending on the means test. However if he's not arsed as you say to even check it out himself then he probably has sufficient means already.

    Your mate wont qualify for JSB as he hasnt paid any PRSI contributions but may be entitled to JSA - which is means tested.

    Sounds a delightful person :rolleyes: If your mate "Isnt arsed" to go IMO shouldnt be entitled to a cent cos they must have sufficient means already.

    I'm sorry to rant but someone that hasnt paid PRSI contributions to help the country shouldnt be entitled to any handouts at all. I think its different if someone hasnt enough stamps, cos they have worked and paid something... Sorry, just had to get that off my chest
