Jo-Ann Fabrics is pretty reasonable. They have a website. http://www.joann.com/ There's a store locator tab at the top of the page to find one in your area. Some furniture store like Walmarts have fabric departments as well.

Most Online Companies will Send your order but I really don't know if they can deliver their stuff in Ireland. Here's the link for their catalog and location http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=stores or you can simply input your location in search button. Also, always check your local furniture store like ikea etc, I'm quite sure they are also selling fabrics.

Charity shops often have fabric for very cheap. Also in Hickeys and other fabric shops they have remnants going cheap.

If you are in Paris, it is well worth going to the fabric area near the sacret cour (sorry for speling)

It's a few years since I've been but I'm still working my way through what I got there.
    eg: draping jersey - €2.80 p/meter
    dark denim - €4.50 p/meter
    heavy lace - €6.50 p/meter
