Fees for masters/Hdip in education

    Hi,

I'm wondering what the cost of doing the Higher Diploma in Education is?

    (1) I know the price may vary pending on which uni I do it in, but what would be the average fee?

    (2) I have 2 honours degrees at present and am thinking of doing the masters instead. Would the masters cost me a couple of grand to do or would it be the normal fee of €900 (€1500 from 2009)?

Also, (3) Is it true that if I was to do the Masters first and then the H.Dip, I would have to pay "Full Fees" for the H.Dip as the masters is a higher qualification?

    Cheers

    Dan.

Not sure about questions 1 and 2, but three, the answer is sadly yes.

Since I did my MA in NUIM last year, I now have to fork out the whole hog to do my hdip this year :(

i have one more year left to do on my honours degree in mathematics. if i was to do the h.dip next year and after qualifying as a teacher and so on...i was to do a part-time masters, would i need to pay through the nose for it, or could i get some state subsidy or something since im going up the ladder, not down it?

    Given that you're progressing, I presume you'd wouldn't.

AFAIK and i could be open to correction, you need to have the Hdip to do the masters (with the exception of the open university) and i think you also need a couple years experience.
