Have VHI cover.Is car insuarence injuty cover required?

Hi all, I currently have VHI medical cover. Do I need the injury cover option on my car insurance? Surely I could just claim off VHI for any medical bills. The car insurance comany have told me that I don't need it but I just want to make sure. Thanks Alan
