    Hi,
Just wondering does anyone have any helpful hints or tips to help me get rid of an infestation of red spider mites.

I recently moved into a new house and have started to notice the patio/ window ledges are covered in these little red creatures (construction going on in house at the minute so not sure if that is what has aggrevated them) they seem to be multiplying all the time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Try this:

Although from another recent post, they are more likely Clover Mites:

If it's really a swarming problem, call the zoo and ask for the entomologist.

thanks for the helpful links, the do look a bit like the clover mite, seem a brighter shade of red though.

as far as i know they are not harmful to humans, i want to get rid of them as there is hundreds of them crawling all over my windows and patio.
    thanks again.

They seem to have disappeared the last week or so,must have a short lifespan.I found them previously all over the window ledges and garden furniture and if you put your hand down anywhere you would get their red contents all over your hands, takes some scrubbing to clean as well!

I seem to have a similar issue, the mites are like specs of dust/dirt until they start to move... you can see them when you get close.
Theres not a lot of them but i want rid of them. They are not red, they are a yellowish brown colour and are mostly in the WC downstairs where there was a leeking radiator at one point...
I purchased an overpriced house with poorly finished construction so I presume theres lots of access points for such creatures to gain unlawful entrance!!!.... Can any one advise how to get rid of these bugs...

Also saw a few of these running across my computer screen.
Here a bigger view from a window ledge.

I would like to confirm what they are so I can treat them.
