had a serious rethink about my methods after the last test and the opinions received - so thanks for all the help

spent alot of time placing overheads in the sweetest spot
its taken me ages to get to know these mics - and the best spot is actually not overhead at all - so after frenzied move . test . move test , i think these are the best spots for them
used an inside kick mic and outside kick mic as well
    and a snare mic

no tom mics , no hat mic , no under snare mic
( never used one any way )

overheads eqd to bring the toms low end out are side-ed out to a compressor and fed back to the overall mix not too much though
a liitle ambience added to the overheads as well

    any better ?

They sound great man, my only thing would be that maybe the cymbals are missing some bite/attack. However I am only listening on headphones at mo so could be that.

Great sounding drums tho and great player. Well done man.
