does it matter what oil you put in your car?

i dont have the manual for the car, all the car shops are closed by the time i get home, so picked some up the garage and i want to check its okay before i put it in.

I presume you mean 10w-40, is it petrol? That should do it fine

Don't forget to replace the 710 cap when you're done. ;)

Huh? When OP said 0W40 they could have meant 0W40 no? Might not suit some engines?

Not too sure but what i do know is 0W-40 is a Full Synthetic oil and 10W-40 is only Semi-Synthetic

[Edit] just checked out that for 1400cc Daewoo Lanos 5W-30 is recommended oil type

Correct spec. oil for the Lanos 1.4 or 1.6 is 10w/40.
