    hey anyone,

want to travel to Ayia Napa in Sept with a few couples - what is the weather like?
    • Who would you recommend to travel with in Ireland?
    • are there 2 stop overs as i see flight time is 4 1/2 hours or so but on some sites i see 2 stop overs?
    • what's a reasonable price to fly from Ireland? i see from 560 with most places but that's before the add the extra charges.
    • then could you recommend accommodation, i.e. anything from 3 star, not too sure if want to do apartments or hotel, hotels seem to be 100 euro dearer?
    • Recommend a good pub?
    • any live bands
    • i know ayia napa can be clubby but kind of gone from that scene but still wouldn't mind the odd boogie!!
    • could you recommend some nice reasonable priced restaurants...
    thanks guys.......

hi there. First of all you are going to a great spot. Loved it sooo much from last year that I'm heading back there this Saturday for a week.:D There is no stop over from Ireland, its a straight through flight which is good and yes its around 4 1/2 hour journey. Accommodation wise I would book through Concorde travel and go for the Petrosana Apartments. They are one of the best in Ayia Napa. Thats where I stayed last year. Unfortunately this year I had to book through Budget travel as prices for that apartment where very high due to XL going bust last year. Damn I loved that company:(

But for you going in Septemeber it should be really cheap;)

There are loads of lovely restaurants like Greek Taverns. eg. Ambeli Traditional Cypriot Taverna which does stunning food at a resonable price or if you want something hot and steamy there's a realy nice mexican restaurant too called the Tequila at the end of Nissi Ave. There re tonnes of restaurants to choose from though:)

What I would do is go and do a bit of research on the town before you go. I did that and it was a big help in sussing out the good from the bad:)

    Hope this helps

Yes. Stayed in the Aphelandra apartments a few years back. No complaints really. Very nice spot. One issue we did have was that our apartment had trees right outside and very early every morning the birds would kick off and make our hangovers seem so much worse! Apartments are ideally located though. Right in the heart of it. A very short walk to the beach and shops but far enough away from the nightclub thoroughfare that if you wanted to go to bed early the noise from the clubs wouldn't disturb.

Apartments are very basic but sill have everything you need.

    Here are some reviews.

Hi, I stayed in Diomylos this time last year. Had a fantastic hoiday. The apartments were VERY basic and there was a rough crowd there the same week as us. Constant music blaring all night long. Didn't stop us from having the best holiday ever though!! The apartments are very close to the strip, just don't expect anything fancy and make sure you get air con! You'll need it!

I find this a great website. Some of the hotels you mentioned are reviewed here.

no prob:) I payed €539. Yep that included all the taxes, flights, tranfers and apartment for the week! But that was because July is the peak month. For you going in September they would be May prices. I'd say you could pick up a deal for €300 if not a bit less. :D

Two threads merged. OP, you don't have to open a new thread for different aspects of the one holiday.

    :)

Got qutoed 675 plus 65 for the 1st week in Sept with Concorde for the Takkas apts, 819 for a 3star hotel - i think that is a bit pricey given that its outside the peak period. i thought then it mite be to do with the ire v cyprus match being on but checked the week after and after that again and pretty much the same. i think 635 inclusive with Budget travel. but maybe worth waiting for last min deal the week or two beforehand...

i hear there's a steep hill nearby, is it is as bad as they say or is it just petty talk!! :)

I lived there for a bit and my advice, is to try and book into a hotel that includes food in the price..

The exchange rate is punishing, and you will be shocked by the price of food and meals in restaurants ....

    Hello,
going to Cyprus (Ayia Napa) at the beginning of October, staying in Nissi 3 apartments. I would really like to know what the weather is usually like in Cyprus at this time of year and what it's like as a country, or even better if someone has stayed in these apartments. People have told us that they're fabulous and beside Nissi beach. Can anyone help, please? ANYONE?
