Has anyone got any recommendations for good insect repellant ? Something that can be gotten readily enough in Dublin ?

Going to be out in the countryside near lakes and forests in Sweden which has a reputation for mosquito's etc...

    thanks

Don't know of any particular brands but just make sure whatever you get has a high content/percentage of DEET. Its the best stuff against mozzies

Avon Skin-so-soft works better than DEET and will not melt your clothing ;)

    Thanks guys.

@Gran Hermano - Do you know anywhere in Dublin I might pick Avon Skin So Soft up?

Should I store it in the fridge ? :)

I have heard the plug ones are useless.

    So avoid them

Absolutely agree on the DEET thing - I use over 50% DEET when going to mozzie countries. Can't beat it. People worry about it being poisonous/full of chemicals. But if you're only using it for a few weeks at a tie I wouldn't worry about it..better than mozzie bites..

    DEET aswell.

I talked about that with one of the Doctors at the Tropical Medical Bureau ( the clinic at old Mercer's Hosp.) a few years ago. I mentioned I had spray 'with Citronella', she laughed and said that I might aswell use Olive Oil on my skin if it didn't include DEET.

I just got a 50% DEET spray in Boots for e10. They have a large range of 50% DEET in Dundrum. It's in a grey bottle. Will see in a few weeks if it works!

Jungle Formula is good. I think you can get it in boots.
