ACA v Taxation

    im heading into my final year undergrad doing accounting and Finance. Thinking of doing either tax or the ACA afterwards. Which would people in here recommend

    Most people who have a college accounting background tend to do both. It's what I'm doing anyway. If you work in tax in a large practise they'll encourage it.

    As the Irish taxation institute has only 6,000 members and not all would be be accountants this is almost certainly not true.

    Anyone who is ambitious about a career in practice these days does both.

    im sure he meant if you do the tax exams you will have already done the accountancy exams(makes sense to do ac first as u get exemptions from some tax exams).

    I do not know anyone(in the A.C world(ie not solicitors)) who only did the tax exams

    I agree, most people with the tax qualification would also be accountants.
