    Hi All,
At an ag show recently , saw a Landini Powerfarm 100 (new) it looked like a neat tractor anyone have first hand experience of them, especially that model? It was the base spec model and had an unusual pto engagement set up with a pto clutch lever under the dash and a seperate pto engagement lever beside the seat anyone familiar with this arrangement?

    Hi,

I have a Landini Blizzard 85. It has the same PTO engagement set up as you mentioned which I find to be very good and easy to use. I have not been in the model you specified but I find Landini to be a good tractor with a great engine- good value for money also!

had a ghibli 90 there a few years ago, it would be quiet similar i reckon to the powerfarm, for the life of me i cnat remember the pto setup but it was a good tractor, never had any bother except clutch went after 5 years, probably from loader work

Sorry should have been more specific, if you were driving something which was hard to get spinning ,like a dungspreader can the pto be gradually got turning or does it come on quite sharply ?

I thought thats what you ment but wasnt sure..

Yes because it is a manual hand leaver for the PTO Engagement, it can be released as slowly as you want hense the PTO can start VERY gentily if you release the hand leaver slowly.. :)

    Hi

I've been using a Landini Ghibli today and cannot engage the standard pto, its just grinding like when you cannot get a gear on a car. The live PTO is working fine, anyone have experience of these tractors and had this problem?

Have a Ghibli 100. Have similiar problem with pto engagement, tearing alot. Also PTO knocks out of gear quite a bit. A diseaster when round baling.

Recently got the same tractor. Having trouble turning off the pto think it is working fine and i am just doing something wrong. To turn the pto on i pull up the hand clutch beside the steering wheel and then shove down the black lever on the left hand side this lever is very stiff should this be ? i then let down the hand clutch and the pto engages. When trying to turn it off i pull up the hand clutch and try to move the black lever again but it wont move. As soon as i let down the hand clutch the pto starts again so i have to keep the hand clutch up and this is not recommended for driving when not using the pto.

the hand clutch may need to be adjusted or possibly there is a problem with the black lever,

try revving up the engine and then let off sharply, see will it (pto) slip out on the the over run (ie when the revs are dropping off )

do not use the tractor with the hand clutch pulled

if used over a long of time it can lead to engine failure

Have a 05 vision 105 (100hp) with a loader, great machine unreal pulling power with its reduction gears in the back axel, nice light tractor too with great ground clearance.its very simple to service with very little to give trouble..i reckon its one of the ultimate stock man tractors.im putting my one up for sale in a few weeks to fund a small telehandler and will

Thanks when you say let it off sharply do you mean the hand clutch or the black lever ?

Have a 9880 and the black lever is up for 540/1000 and down for ground speed as far I can remember.

Are you disengaging it when you are on the move?

Make sure you have the right speed by checking the dash.

Don't continue with what you are doing anyway!

Sorry. I meant the revs let off the throttle and see can you get the black lever to come out of gear while the engine is dying down ,

brother in law has a couple of landinis , but it's a while since i drove any of them

Had a landini blizzard 85 here for 3 years. When finished with the PTO we could just slip the black PTO engagement handle out of gear without even using the hand clutch - very little pressure required to do this.

sounds to me that the problem is around the little black handle area. Have you gone under the tractor to check for obstructions etc?

You say purchased recently? Give the dealer a call to sort it out or did you buy privately?

Advice for all those tractors with hand clutch is not to operate with clutch pulled for any longer than necessary - ie turning at headlands Etc. think there is a sticker to that effect on the tractor.

Sold ours 18 months ago - no fault just upgrading.

How would this lead to engine failure?

constant forward pressure on the crankshaft

I know of a case where one of the earlier Duetz (which had a similar set up ) the owner left the hand clutch pulled for the full winter to avoid letting the disc stick to the pressure plate , and used the tractor for foddering

the main bearings failed ...and you know the rest

tractor was still under guartanee , but when they stripped the engine they knew the cause , guartanee was void and hefty bill for the owner.
