Paging

I see seamus has a 'Feature Suggestion' thread down further so just to throw something out there.

I'm a member on another forum that uses a system of 'paging' and it's extremely useful.

Basically you simply put the text 'paging <username>' (where <username> is obviously the user you wish to page) and the user recieves a PM linking to the thread.

It's sort of similar to 'Reported Posts' for moderators but it's an equivalent that everyone can use. One place I see it being useful is somewhere like Feedback where a user has a problem with another user / moderator and a simple page to that "offending" user will call them to address the thread.

Anyways.. just thought I'd pitch the idea here.

I like the idea. I know on a few occassions I've Pm'd people with an interest in a specific area to come to a forum (say, CT) to share their ideas/experience. I've also had ppl Pm me to highlight a thread thats taking the piss out of me!

I suppose a Pm or Vm would do but it sounds like a cool feature.

Yeah, it does take the time out of constructing a PM though.

    Simply a:

paging 6th to show his support!

(that's exactly how it's shown in the other forum I frequent.. the username of the user is linked to their profile. Probably as an indicator it worked!)

I've had people PM me to make sure I check out a thread. Often it isn't something to be reported, but it is something I need to check out.

But I suppose, is it double jobbing? Why can't we still PM?

    Moved to Development.

Pro tip: if it involves adding a feature, it goes in development.

I would love this, would be great for when you see a thread you think someone would like,

but not enought to warrant a pm or email, more a mention it next time you see them if it comes up kind of thing.

That plus the fact that a PM can sometimes be more hassle than it's worth.. interrupting your browsing of Boards to send a PM to a user linking to a thread.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
