Slow Iphone 3g after 3.0 upgrade and solution

My iphone 3g was constantly freezing after upgrading to the 3.0 software, so I decided to wipe the phone. Obviously before I made any changes I synced with itunes and made a backup.

Then I went to the iphone and chose:

Settings --> General --> Reset --> Erase all Content and Settings

I had to verify a couple of times, and it warned me that it would take about two hours... it did!

But after two hours I restored my data and it is now like it was in the beginning. It is flying along with no freezing. Woo Hoo!
