    After a very successful stint in Andrews Lane Theatre we have decided to go back to our roots and take techno to a venue unknown in the dance scene. Eamon Dorans has long been home to great nights of many varying genres in the rock categories and we are delighted to announce that once again, as previously in the VOODOO LOUNGE and MCGRUDERS we are its very first ever TECHNO RESIDENCY.
    If you've been to our nights before you'll know the policy is all out bang for your buck and we've spent a long time looking for a venue that has some character and is devoid of the impersonal feel of the bigger clubs around town.
    Its time to go back underground and get back to basics with the host of local talent that is abundent about the locality. It all kicks off on Friday night so I hope your tastebuds are screaming out for something fresh away from the current staleness of the Dublin dance scene and can lend your support. We have weeks of talent lined up to get your juices flowing so stay tuned and we'll be in touch. tws.

    Seen that guy Jay D "warming up" before playing 140bpm Techno.Please say its not going to be the case should I venture down to this.

    Also having been in McGruders a few times you's always seem to have the same guys playing for you's.Theres a host of talent in Dublin,look beyond what you're used to!

    thanks for the comments. It will indeed be good to get back into it in Dorans. Looking forward to dark and durty layout should be fun :)

    Jay D has never played 140bpm techno in his life man and it wouldnt be our bag at the Weird Scientist AT ALL. So you've obviously gotten one of our nights and Jay D mixed up with something else in McGruders at some stage, maybe one of the Technowarfare nights or summit.

    If you check out www.myspace.com/theweirdscientist you'll hear tunes on the buzz we're on. Hasn't been updated in a while but you'll get the drift.

    Really looking forward to letting the residents run amok friday and havin a good laugh hope to see you's there!!

    I actually had your man Jay D warmin up for me there on my birthday not too long ago, he left me at 128bpm which is a far cry from 140bpm man!

    I dont actually know the guy well but he seems solid enough of a dj....

    Fair play for posting that, I feel the same myself, it wouldnt be any harm if they posted the odd thread asking for a DJ to warm up or something... Seeing the same 3 of 4 lads week in week out will ultimitely drive people away....
