    Hi All,
I want to put a door under my stairs, but want it to look right as it is diectly facing you when you go in our hall door. It wold measure aprox 24" by 54". We will be painting it white.

What would be best to do, what wood etc or what type of door to cut down or make from scratch????

    Many Thanks,

I would order one from a joiner so that it will look as right as possible. Nothing worse than a door with narrow margins after being cut down too much. Saying that I saw a few doors with the top 2 panels (square panels) chopped off to leave 4 long panels of what was originally a 6 panel door and it looked fine.
Width wise, you really shouldnt be taking a whole lot off the sides as it wont look.
    Best get one made up
