You can get a prepaid credit card. V3 works with it, as far as I know.

Unforunatly not. The PSN have changed the way they take money from Credit Cards so if you have a pre pay card it wont work at the moment. Myself and thecivvie are constantly harassing them at the moment until they change it back:pac:

Strange, 3v cards work for me. Only used one last month.

Is 3v the one off payment thing? We have been using pre pay mastercards which you can just top up. They were working fine up until about 8 weeks ago and now they just wont! It's the same across Europe. Heres the thread we've been posting on from the playstation community

Hmm, I would just use 3V card vouchers, they (obviously :P) work better then the mastercard variant.

You can apply for one Here.

Yeah it's a total pain in the ass! I put a load of money on mine for getting stuff from psn and have ended up buying a dart board, furniture for the living room and god knows what else! It's all your fault sony!

But on a serious note, at least it looks like someone is looking into the problem at last.

3V Prepaid Card works fine, never had an issue
Sony deduct €1 for validation of the card, but its refunded a day or so later.

so if i get a €20 voucher i can only use 19 then left with a refund of €1 that can't be used on psn

You'll only be able to put €15 on if your card balance is €19.
(only increments of €5 can be credited to your PSN account)
so, i'd advise just put €15 onto PSN and when the €1 gets put back on the card, put the final €5 on PSN then
    Hope this helps

Some people are reporting similar problems with 3v, would be handy to know if it is a one off or a more serious problem.

Sony changed the way that they charge cards, and it seems to have affected pre pay Mastercards more that others. Of course the advantage of the prepay Mastercards is that they are valid for 3+ years so you don't end up weith multiple card numbers.

May try 3v tomorrow if I can find somewhere to charge it andf find me card :)

Charged my 3v and it works, pain is that I will have to keep changing the card evey couple of months, but I do understand that until recently the Mastercard prepays worked, Sony changed something and won't change back

    +1 for 3V vouchers.

They have always worked for me and I've only had one problem with it trying to add to my account but that was sorted the next day.

Been using em ever since I got the PS3

I think you fail to see that it was PSN that caused the problem, so they could do the same to 3v vouchers. The advantage of the prepaid master cards is that you have the same card number for upto 4 years, instead of changing it every 2 to 3 months

This was exactly the reason i got myself a prepay MC. Still waiting for sony to fix it mind you.

In these tight times I don't want to be giving microsoft €20 worth of points when all I want to do is buy a song for rock band. I would rather pay for what I want, than have to buy credit for something I may want in the future.

just open an account in halifax mate, they will give you a debit card that acts as a visa credit card. very handy for the internet.
