    Hi all,

Well only a few days to wait now before first CAO offers for mature nursing students get published! So I've tried to work out what I think they'll be based on previous years, cuts in places, general trends etc and I've come up with my thoughts! I'll be interested to see how close to the mark I am!

*** THESE ARE ONLY MY THOUGHTS, NOTHING HAS BEEN RELEASED YET ***

Feel free to suggest your own ideas on what points may be!
Didn't list all colleges! Only a few!

    General (Meath & James) - 179
    Midwifery - 183
    UCD

    Hi Sandra

Im very confused with all this points business for nursing for mature students. How did you come up with those figures? Have you applied through the CAO before? I didnt get any offers on sat so Im really hoping that I'll be lucky on July 31st. Im saying lucky and I mean that. I think the whole thing is mostly down to luck of the draw! I got 158 in the written test Im thinking now that I may not get an offer because of the competition, but Im trying to stay positive. Its difficult though as there is not a lot of info about the points and the way it works so you end up just presuming situations and how they allocate the places.

lol1, was just my guess based on reduction in places and previous years! But i was off! I got 179pts and got my first choice of Childrens and general in TCD, and someone else was saying they got 169pts and got Midwifery! So I've no idea what the points cut off where... not sure why the CAO don't publish it... maybe shoot them a quick mail!

    Where did you apply to??

    Hey

I applied as a mature student and through FETAC (this is a long shot very few places via this route but if your not in you can't win!) I have UL as my first choice, general, midwifery and I.D nursing then I followed up with Cork and Galway. I was disappointed when I saw no offers there on Sat morn. I kinda feel better about things now. Its the waiting thats the killer
