Before I even begin, please no one suggest to me to get a mac. This isn't for me, it's for my sister and she's never used a mac and doesn't want to learn. I've already tried to convince her to get one. Every time I google for info, the websites love to say get a mac.

I'm looking to build my sister a pc this year for xmas. She's a new digital photographer, working as one for about 1.5 years now. She's looking to do more freelance work and build a portfolio. I was wondering what graphic card would be best for this. I'm used to building gaming pc, and I know she doesn't need anything that expensive, but I was hoping someone could make some suggestions. Anyone know of the best budget card for this? Are cards for HTCPs good for this?

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for the best software, I use adobe creative suite design as I have worked in publishing, please feel free to include that inva response as well.

    Thanks.

To be honest any card will do her for editing photos etc.
It's only when you get into Photoshop CS4 that this app starts to use the video card for editing.
It's supported on both Nvidia and ATI cards and you'd pick up

Cheers! I'll be most likely putting the CS4 Design premium on the pc, so this list should help.
