    Hi all,

I graduated from a Business Degree 3 years ago, with a specialism in HR and have been working in HR since then.

However I've always had an interest in Marketing and I now wish to pursue it as a career. Recently in my job I've started doing some marketing and I've also been reading a lot of books etc on marketing over the past few years.

So my question is, what do you think I should do now? I already have a business degree so I don't think doing a Marketing degree is necessary...however I do want some more education.

Also, should I try to get a Marketing role now and study later?

Since you said your in a company, so start inventing marketing idea's or campaigns. By reading the right books chances are you can come up with better idea's than the average marketeer nowadays, who rarely keep up to date with the latest techniques.

So go to the marketing manager or the highest person up you can get to and tell them your interested in marketing. Ask them to look at your idea's for growing the business "That you you came up with in your own time" (that bit is crucial). If you can provide value to them the will notice and more importantly you'll learn a lot. Then they will either have to promote you or risk loosing you to a competitor.

    Hope that helps.
