Just want to windge a bit here but I asked for chips there. The canteen lady looked at the big plate then looked at more or less a saucer, then grapped the saucer.

One scoop of microwave chips that taste like fish. €2.40 i can a fullbag of chips for €2.30 like absolute stinginess. Portions are ridiculosly mean for crap food and no prices for anything. A mangey spoonful of Beans more or less 80cent or something. Its supposed to be a collage canteen noyt a rip off.
The facilities dont warrent this kinda of rip off. 90cent for a cup of horrible tea like.

DIT are far from the most overpriced canteen in third level in ireland. you could always go to one of the lovely eateries around the college, there's loads of tasty places to eat.

Ehhh... stop moanin' ya can get a massive fry in there in the mornings and it don't cost ya over four euro.

... and they only give ya the big plates if ya order somethin' with your chips. Otherwise ya get the small. They shove the same amount onto the small plate that they'd shove onto the large one though.

Id hardly call the fry massive not for a fella anyway ....Scoop of microwave chips wouldnt feed a mouse ....and ya can get a bag of chips for less how does dat make sense?

i will agree the chips are muck , and i know a think or two about chip :D , the fry is o.k. if you want something quick and decent enough price .

No sure if its worth moaning about like there are lot of places around the college you could go, if you think they are really ripping us off , might be something to bring up with the SU, i think the canteen is an outside company yea ? but the college would not want us being left poor and hungry.

Brought it up with the SU they agreed with me and said they already said it to the canteen staff about uneven portions and prices not being displayed properly and being overpriced but the canteen staff said no one is complaining to them. If Im complaining to them I would prefer to remain anonymous.

Might I suggest dropping out of kevin street and finding another DIT. Perhaps you could do an english writing course or something!

Seriously...I could hardly read your first thread.

The Fry ups are probably the only good thing in Ktown.

Breakfast is alright, everything after that is ropey in the extreme.

Yeah, had breakfast the odd time and it is not too bad.
Dinner and Lunch is horrid though. The "beef" dinner is like
leather, and the veg tends to be overcooked.

The stench of fish on wednesday in Kevin street is the worst though.
I am certain Campbell catering runs the canteen service, so bad
quality food is to be expected.

Tbh, what college has a proper canteen?
Cathel Brugha street has a decent canteen....apparently.

Cathal Brugha St. is like some sort of magical edible produce wonderland by comparison, yes.

It would want to be, considering most of the service/food type courses
    are taught there:p

    I know! :D

There have been days when, as I poked the unyeilding beige chunks in the "meat" lasagne, I've earnestly pondered whether there was still enough time to run there before my next lecture...

Yeah, they do still sell the cakes and breads and stuff on Tues and Thursdays at Midday ~(I think those are the days they do it but not really sure)~ Really good and dirt cheap!:)
