    Hey guys,
Was thinking of heading up to Newry to get some sparkling wine for my wedding. Just wondering is there any restrictions on how much alcohol I can bring cross the border? Was thinking round 60 bottles!
    Cheers,
    J.P

Not AFAIK! There are no border checks anymore, not near newry anyway.

You can bring as much as you want once you can prove it's for your own consumption, so just bring something showing that your getting married, that should cover you in the unlikely event that you are stopped by customs

Got all my wine up north yesterday, no problems, no checks, and Tesco are doing 25% off wine this week!!!! Went to the store in Banbridge.

We got 70 odd bottles of Gato Negro (Cab. Sauv. and Sauv. Blanc.) in Winemark at 3 bottles for £10 a couple of months ago.
Also, picked up Canti prosecco at £4 per bottle in Asda.

And no there are no restrictions!
