    just read it based on a recommendation, the issue in the play that our placenames were forcefully anglicised- could these names ever be reversed back to original form like an daingean

    "Translations" is one of the greatest plays in Irish theatre ever. If you get a chance to see it live, go see it and then go see it again. I can't recommend this play enough.

    Well you can access the official Irish language version of almost every townland in Ireland at www.logainm.ie, though they won't come into common usage unless the Irish language is revived nationally. If the language is revived, the Irish language placenames will be revived. The two events won't occur independently of each other.
