South Africa Sporting Events

    Has anyone any idea what type of money that SA are making from sporting events in 09 and 10, (10 wow thats kinda weird to write) with the Lions Tour I can only imagine they are making a fortune from ticket sales, eventhough not many people went to the warm up games ticket prices were three times as much as a super 14 fixture. The confederations cup just came to an end last night and i imagine there was a small fortune made there too. and with the world cup next year, thats just a wack load of more money on its way. they got lucky that the lions tour fell around the same time (more or less) as the world cup, because they stage a practice tournament the confed cup before hand.

    any one any figurs on how much they are making?

    They'll probably record a loss when World Cup time comes around, having to upgrade stadiums, infrastructure, security, accomodation etc.

    Hopefully it'll be recouped when the Irish fans drink the country dry :D
