Barbeque

We currently use disposable barbeques when away for weekends. We will be away for 2 weeks during August & wonder what other people use. Would like to get some type of portable barbeque. Most of the barbeques I have looked at locally seem to be bolted together & a bit big for the camper. Any ideas.
Also, what do you feed your kids when on hols. We have an 8 year old, 6 year old & 4 year old. Pasta is fairly handy but they do get a bit of sick of getting too much of it.

    Thanks,

    Tim

I've inherited one of those Cramer gas barbeques, folds into handy briefcase size

but the latest and greatest in "real" barbequeing (i.e with charcoal) is supposed to be this yoke:

I've a wee kettle type charcoal BBQ on 20cms or so legs, its a cheap Tesco one but does the job fine.Never fancied a gas bbq,I'd rather have the hassle and mess and the authentic taste;)

My kids get pretty much same diet as at home when we're off in the van, minus stuff done in the oven.Saying that my folks just visited and gave us one of thesehttp://www.hoorayforhomecooking.co.uk/WhatisaRemoska.htm
Looking forward to playing with it:)

I'm not particularly keen on the gas barbeque either, just doesn't taste quite the same. But... gift horse and all that and I don't have to carry messy charcoal around.

We use a Cadac BBQ which folds up quiet small. We also pack a Foreman grill and have discovered that it's possible to cook a pizza with the lid slightly propped up.

    Hi,
We have a Weber portable gas BBQ
    portable-weber-gas-grill.jpg

It uses a small gas canister which you can get in most camping shops.
The garden centre in Malahide sells Weber stuff.
We picked ours up in Germany when we bought the Hymer.

We recently bought the Camping Kitchen from Lidl..or Aldi...and its great.
In terms of feeding the kids, we generally bring some meatballs or curry and re-heat it with rice or pasta aswell as plenty of meat for the BBQ.

    good luck !!!

We use a Weber portable charcoal barbecue - it's small enough to fit under the seats.. We've had it for about 10 years and have found it excellent. Despite being small, we cooked for 17 people on it whilst in France this summer.

The 2 silver legs you can see, actually fold back over the top to act as a clamp to hold it shut
