Staff went in today to find out it was closed, so if you were planning on attending anything there in the coming days or weeks, check with the organisers to see if its been moved or cancelled.

Well this makes a bit of sense.
Planned a night there next month and they were giving me the run around for the last few days not being able to give me a firm commitment, complaining about meetings with the owner. Its a shocker, I thought it was a lovely little spot if ran properly. Only played there twice.

    Pity.

Had some very good nights in there but where's the link and source? Upstairs does ok.

Just spoke to one of the people who book the nights for downstairs and they seem to think it might not be closed down for good.

I have a bloody gig in the Cavern Friday so I'm not sure what to do now.

How long will it be closed and where does that leave people who have being trying to book gig's?

Hi Durd1e, (always preferred that name:D)

Is it time to start panicing? Whats the story with that other night I wonders?? Should I cancel my hair and nail appointments??? Is the Cavern, Radio City ???? What is, the meaning of life??????

So many questions, so few answers:p;)

No the night on Friday is Sol - http://www.solatnight.com/ . Hmmm, they are listed as the same day. WTF is that about.

Anyway, Radio city is apparently closed for about 2 weeks and that includes the cavern.

Hey redspot, I'm looking for a new place and am reasonably confident I'll find one but I'll let everyone know sometime tonight.

Weird, both gigs are planned for the same night in the same venue. O-oh!

Well that's a lie anyway because my cuz works there and he has told me they are only closed for two weeks for maintenance work.. all staff were notified its just that dumbass "Dave" the so called "promoter" giving the place a bad name because he was too lazy to ring the people that had booked gigs and notify them now management are getting blamed??

Im sure it will be business as usual in a couple of weeks...

We'll see, I'm not so sure. Anyway, I found a new venue for my gig - Melody Bar on Capel St

I know people behind the scenes involved with Radio City and its a lot more serious than that, believe me.

Its got to do with financial implications, money they owe and other issues so its pretty serious and could work out pretty badly for them.

What a shame. I hope they sort it out..

Well i have heard differently and from a very good source so i'm sure we'll have to wait a few weeks and see... !!!

Ah Man! Radio city is one fo those places that I never seem to get round to going to - looks like I may have missed my chance:(

Radio City will reopen but probably under a different name and with a new structure, it wont be available for hire friday or saturday.

our gigs for July and August have been cancelled as we look for a venue that suits our needs.

We will be back in September with Exium (live) as guests.

    Cheers

    Kelsa

I heard it right from a certain promoter over the weekend that radio city will not be re-opening, apparantly the owners have closed it for the second time this year and are walking away this time for good it belongs to hotel isaac's so i think they might re-open themselves along the line.. I gig there often and since January you could tell they didnt give a **** about the place the owners were never to be seen the management were really decent trying to do there job but i think lack of communication and leadership from the owners got in the way. Its a real shame coz it has great potential so hopefully it falls into the right hands this time and it can be ran the way it should..... Its a shame for the staff to lose there jobs for the second time this year, it had some really friendly staff and I wish them all the best.

Solets hope somebody new and exciting gets ther hands on Radio city and gives us the real venue that it should be.
