Emty and myself went to Vamos in the Sierra Nevada back in March, it was very good indeed. Just went to build up some climbing km in the legs really, I have not yet started with a proper formal training plan of any sort.

I went to Alsace with a couple of friends last year. Lovely scenery and nice wine! Really steep in some places though (I'm not that fit).

Cycle-wise the spring, before the season gets underway, can be a good time- you can get away from the Irish weather to somewhere hot (but not too hot) and get in some good km. Much of Europe (certainly Spain) would tend to be hotter than you might like in the actual summer.

Do you have specific goals (racing?)
