If this question is in relation to preparing a FSC application you should ring the Chief Fire Officer in charge of the area and ask what his/her preference is, otherwise let Part B guide you to the relevant document(s).

The research will do you good both ways, you get to meet the CFO or you get some needed study.:)

Seriously, if you can't find it, post the purpose grouping your building is in?

Personally I would assess a nursing home as a hospital PG2(a) as you would have a mixture of ambulant, semi ambulant and bed bound residents but as uncle tom says a quick call to your local fire officer will calrify this for you

TGD B specifies regulations to deal with nursing homes (DOE document "fire safety in nursing homes, july 1996" )... but as advised above, contact your local FO for his/her advice....

Cheers Syd, I knew there was an out of date document I had used before.
Phoned the F.O. but they were not up to much on the subject matter apart from the basics.

    Thanks everyone.
