Renault Megane Immobiliser Broken

Hey all. I have an old enough Renault Megane. Anyone to start the car you hit the immobiliser on the key, otherwise the car wont start, anyways this has stopped working and have no idea how to fix. The key is fine. Went to a garage and he was as confused as me..Any idavise welcome. I'll probably have to call Renault..

Hi i had a renault megane and my handbag was stolen with the car keys in it. I never got them back. Had to bring the car out to a Renault Dealer. Paid €200 for a new key only to find the immoboliser wouldn't work. Anyways eventually the gave me a code. I would have to turn the key once in the ignition and count 6 flashes of the immoboliser light, then twist key once and count 1 flash, then twist key once and count 1 flash and the twist the key and count 4 flashes and then the car would start. If i happened to cut out or turn off the engine i had 30seconds to start the engine again otherwise i had to do the whole thing again. My advice get a new car! It's not worth it. I scrapped mine after 9mths of going through it.

Thanks a million for that Sage, i will try that when i go home this evening. I am getting married in a month so only need it to work until then as will look for a new car when that is over.. Fingers crossed it works.

I'd imagine they are sorted by now. I doubt they sat lookign at the car on the drive for 2 and a half years
