Does anyone know if someone could get into an actuary course with a hons degree in civil engineering from a NUI? Would I have to go through all the years of the course or would I be exempt from some? Not even sure if this is the right thread for this, but I didn't know where else to post.

When I was finished my Accounting degree in WIT I looked into doing an actuarial add-on. I didn't look into it in too much depth but from what I could see I had to start from scratch and was informed that it would take up to 7 years to be fully qualified.

I'm not sure of the reliability of this information but that was my understanding at the time. I'd assume you would be in the same position coming from an engineering background.
