Door security

    Hi,

I just need some info from people who know about this line of work or who work in this area.

I've seen that there are some door security jobs going in my locality, advertised on the web. I do not have a PSA license or any certification, I have been reading up on this lately but any info you can give would be helpful.

I view myself as being level headed person. I am 23 years old and I am from Cork and based in Cork. As an aside I keep fit and healthy, I also do a reality based self defense type martial art for the past 9 months.

I see that these advertised jobs do not require previous experience, I assume that this is acceptable if you show all the other qualities that they require. I am wondering if anyone can shed any light on the chances of someone being hired with my set of criteria. I would be happy to get the necessary certificates and licensing to do the job as is required, I just wonder do they want people with a lot of experience in other areas relevant to this job such as martial arts etc. I honestly believe I'd be able to do well as a bouncer/door security person, just need to know if it's worth my time going for it.

    Thanks.
