So I came across the "blood sports" section of Wikipedia after reading about Bullfighting (which I deplore). It had a list of various different bloodsports, such as the old familiars like cock-fighting etc but THEN I seen Fox-Tossing. Allow me to quote Wikipedia here

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_tossing

Fox tossing was a popular competitive blood sport in parts of Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries, which involved throwing live foxes and other animals high into the air.:eek:The tossing would take place in an arena, usually either created by setting up a circle of canvas screens in the open or by using the courtyard of a castle or palace.[

Who.... invented this exactly? Why does it sound (I'm sad to say) so goddamn interesting and hilarious. Surely Fox Tossing is irrefutable proof that our ancestors really had nothing better to do :D

If ya think throwing foxes is bad, go to Cambodia, you can pay money to shoot different things, like cows, chickens etc. you can Bazooka a chicken.

That actually sounds like great fun. Chicken needs to die before I eat it anyway, we may as well have a laugh about it first. Also the explosion might give it a nice smokey taste.

I thought it was a cow you could shoot with the bazooka.

It's a little redundant using it on a chicken, they were offering handguns / rifles for those.

Though I guess if you offered them more dollars they'd let you do whatever you want.

Humans are so ****ed up anyways that eventually, because of boredom, they'll get to a stage where they do actually toss off foxs and turn it into an olympic sport. At least if someone was tossing off an animal, they could realistically justify the sport by claiming that the animal is enjoying it (everyone loves a ****, even basil brush). You could have different weight divisions as well. Start with small dogs and work your way up to bulls. Have pros and amateurs. The pros know to tickle the animals asshole a bit to speed things up a bit.

    Good thread.
