I am trying to get a bathroom refitted and I am already lost on the price. Two pretty different quotes thus far. The room is 6'*6' so it is not very big.It involves ripping out a shower, toilet and sink and replacing with a bath/shower, toilet and sink. One quote has the labour alone as €1500 no tiler, no electrician. I can't see it taking one man day let alone two so it seems expensive to me.

Wouldn't that depend on the alterations to the plumbing , the cost of the new ware specified and the shower alone will be between 200 and 300 Euro, so how can you put put a ball park figure on it. Are you or the plumber supplying the ware?

to start with you need someone (plumber) to take everything out including electrician to disconnect shower if it is electric. Plumber then fits shower tray or bath and then leaves. Tiler comes along and does his bit then plumber back in again to refit everything. Best of luck if you can do all that in one man day.

Also unless you are putting wares back in exactly where the old ones are coming out there will be a bit of work moving pipes and connections.

I agree €1500 labour only sounds expensive but you need to get a breakdown of whats included.
