Hello, I hope some of you wise people could offer some advice.

My local bike shop says they haven't had ladies T30s in for 8 months. I could shop around but I really like the shop and they have great after sales-service. So I'm looking at

    Barracuda Indiana
    Trek 7100
Or will I just get the men's T30? Apart from the bar is there much difference?

I'm leaning towards the barracuda ATM as it has a nice lightweight frame and it has the panniers and mud guards included in the price.

    Thoughts?

You could get the men's one, unless you wear a lot of shirts in whiche case, it could be an issue :)

You could also get the Giant 3.0 or 4.0 ladies which is I think what you are looking for.

Thanks for that! Oh I always wear a shirt. ;):p

I don't think my local shop does Giant bikes and I'm loathe to go somewhere else as they've really been great for giving me help and freebies etc so ideally I'd like to give them the custom...

    What Would Famke Do?

I have the men's T30, I use it for my commute (I prefer men's bikes to ladies ones tbh) and I'm happy out with it! If you go to the UCD bike shop they have them ex-rental in great condition for a very nice price :p

My female friends seem divided on this - some much prefer mens' bikes; others say you lean too far forward. What don't you like about ladies' bikes?

I find it easier to cycle faster on men's bikes. I'm not sure if that sounds strange, but I've always used men's bikes.

This is possible, woman specific bikes tend to be designed for longer legs and shorter torsos, so if you are a typical female proportion your torso might be stretched a bit much.... many females ride men's bikes though, you should be fine as long as the bike fits you.
