Samsung HD Sky +

    Hi Lads,

My Sky + HD Samsung often shows a Nil signal quality for Input 2. This can be rectified by setting the box to record when the quality will then show it's normal strength of around 90% to 100%.

Also this box can sometimes lose sound but this can be fixed by turning it off at the mains.

The box is otherwise O.K. but my concern is that at present it is still under guarantee (3 months old) and may be faulty. However if Sky sends out an engineer and the box works normally I could well be charged for a visit as these problems are only intermitent.

Has anyone else encountered these problems?

Well b4 you do call them out make sure you check all connections at the back of the box to make sure they are securely fastened. If symtoms persist..you will not be charged a callout charge as you still under warrenty for another 9 months...again it might not be the box its self...signal loss on imput 2 could mean a faulty lnb...

i have had similar problems with my samsung hd box. a reboot always fixes it but it is annoying as i cannot pin down the exact circumstances that causes this

Thanks for reply. I have checked the connections and they are O.K. Also the LNB is working perfectly. The box does it's job all right it is just these errors are irritating and should not exist in new equipment.

I agree these problems are easily fixed but as you say they are irritating and hopefully they do not get worse.

    Thanks for replying.
