Hi, I've found a real deal in a glass screen for my shower area and of course then discovered it's delivery to UK mainland only. Is there any way to have stuff delivered to a UK address and then couriered home?

Some here have used their own independent courier to pick up from the warehouse/shop/supplier in the UK and deliver to Ireland. Price obviously depends on the item weight/dimensions and where you live, and it may not be worth your while, depending on the saving to be made (although it usually is)
A company I used work for had to use this method for having certain specialist paints delivered to this country....as far as I know it doesn't work out that much more expensive than what you might normally pay for shipping from the company you're buying from...

    Moved to OB&A.

Thanks for that Wertz. I must check where exactly in Uk the company is and then give a few couriers a buzz just to get a ball park figure.

Also email/phone the company themselves and see if they will make an exception, they could be struggling for business and be happy to oblige, parcelforce do delivery to Ireland cheap and the service it is not available to other EU countries.

Thanks everyone, but I've just checked with Tubs and Tiles-I hadn't before because 2 years ago when I was first looking for the screen, they quoted me over €800-and they have a suitable shower screen for a very comparable price and in this case I'm going to shop local.
but whenever I'm in this situation again - as I'm sure I will be - I'll have your various advices in mind.
    Thanks again

Nice to see that some indigenous businesses are starting to cop on with their pricing...

The only way is to contact the company in question!

In some circumstances an Irish store has the exclusive rights to a product eg: Brown Freakin Thomas.

So what do you do if you want to purchase something from an online store like Hugo Boss? who won't deliver to the island.

Aramex don't deliver to Ireland either  according to their site.

Catch88 : www.my.uk.mail.co.uk . I've used them in the past and definitely would recommend them.

Some people have used the postcode for Belfast at the end of their Irish address for postal stuff. They say it works...
