    This was a hotly contested category and I ended up with far more nominees than I wanted but there were too good to ignore. The final nominees are:

    Roadrunner; London Marathon
    For overcoming injury to post a simply incredible time. Why the fuss - read this!

    The Bulletin Boards in the Wicklow way relay
    Last place after leg 1 to finish 14th. So what - read about it here

    Enduro, World 24hr Championships
    Most minds boggled - details here

    Slogger Jogger, Edinburugh Marathon
    After the disapointment of a (by his standards) poor race in Rotterdam to bounce back and run a very quick time in the heat of Edinburgh was pretty amazing. More details here

    Magnet, winning the Conn ultra.
    "She is just a regular runner who pulled off an amazing performance and time to go with it." said one of teh nominators. (If anyone has a link to a race report please post it!)

    Seres -Winning the female category Roscommon 10K
    Another "regular" runner doing amazing things. Link here, but quite a modest report!

    ~~~
    Honourable mentions go to:
    All teh MdS crew, especially Honeymonster - "pure endurance and those blisters!". Also MCOS for winning the cycling TT league ("ahead of pure thoroughbred cyclists") and for multiple strong Tri performances. Also RacingFlat, Robinph (for Cork) and Abhainn in Connemarathon.
    Anyone who uses the word "ameliorate" in a race report will get my vote every time ....:rolleyes:
    Didn't know this was her, but this is the race report and a very good one it is too.
    I think a few of the quiet ones are notable omissions from this list - for me PainIsTemporary dominating the national intermediate XC was one of the irish performances of the season, never mind the boardsies. At least I think it was him that won it.
    100% agree - a lot of the really good stuff is never noticed by most of us.
