I didn't know there was a new one....

Although I only have one physical copy of their albums. I saw 'em in Spirit last year. Brilliant live and some excellent stuff. I suppose I'd fall into the "early stuff is bestest" crappy category :o

Good they stuck together though. Glad they didn't end up massive or ride the crest of any "wave".

Dinosaur Jr. are brilliant, but it's a case of 'every single song sounds the same after X amount of albums and X amount of years.' Don't get me wrong, it's a good sound! It's a pity they can't play any festivals in Ireland this year.

The new album is excellent imo, one of the best in 2009.

A great ould band. They've played over here about three times in the last 2 years so no doubt they'll be back over to support the new album soon.

    Really?

Any thoughts on which Dinosaur Jr album to get as an introduction to them?

Been meaning to get into them for years, they've been recommended to me many times, and never got around to them...

With them being at the Picnic this year though, I really want to check them out this time...

I suppose 'You're living all over me' would be the one to get. Great album, always on those best of lists as well. There's a greatest hits album as well I'd recommend, as a good few of their albums are a bit hit and miss, but have great singles.

+1 You're living all over me, every song on it is class, though the production is a wee bit poor.

Bug is probably the their most famous album, or you could go for 'Beyond', which is a classic!

p.s. bring earplugs if you're going to see them in electric picnic, trust me! :D my ears were ringing for about 3 days last time i saw them!
