Jobseekers allowance cut drastically.

    I;m on jobseeker's allowance, I have been getting the whole shabang for a few months - E204, but suddenly I have only been getting E40 :confused::confused: First they informed me that a cheque would no longer be sent to my house, that I would need to use my social services card. Then, 2 weeks later, I was only lifting E40. Thankfully I live at home, but something is wrong here. Any ideas?

    Go into the social welfare office and ask them what the story is.

    The whole thing about sending a cheque to the house used to be for people on casual labour who also claimed dole.

    Is there any detail you have left out by any chance?

    Were you working and claiming {in the legitimate sense} at the same time??

    Sorry to be intrusive, there is usually a good explanation for what has happened, although, and this is just me, I suspect the Dept. will be making all sorts of wildcat decisions from now until the end of the year.
