Never been to a wedding here but my husbands company hosted a black tie ball here which was essentially everything a wedding would be and it was fantastic, really really excellent.

I had my wedding there in 2006. Great Location and the staff were excellent. You can't go wrong booking there if they have the same people running the show.

Unfortunately not. But then again my wedding was back in 2006 so times werent as hard back then with recession and less room to negotiate :D Give them a try they might. You wont regret using Clontarf though. :)

I was a the afters of a wedding there last Wednesday ... The ceremony was held there as well.

Everyone said it was lovely and that the meal was delicious.

The room was gorgeous and the hotel itself is beautiful

Was at my Sister in-laws wedding there a mnth ago ,I know for a fact they got the rooms down to €90 per night from €180,I enjoyed the hotel and wedding ,If i was being really fussy and had to pick a neg - Id say the lack of pool/Gym and also the wedding room can be a bit dark for photos (me having a small interest in photography)

my cousin had her reception there a few years ago. Great night, food and staff. Room was decked out brilliantly as well.

Plus they asked my 26year old brother for ID, which really made the night!!

A good spot to have it i reckon

because it's an average hotel in an average location, so if you been to an average wedding in an average hotel anywhere it's pretty much the same thing

there's just _nothing_ unique about it

the only thing not average will be your costs.

I think you missed the point of this thread to be fair. The OP is looking to hold their Wedding here and asked people's opinions of it. Everyone knows it can be the same as any other wedding in any other hotel but thats not what the OP was asking.

As for the costs they are pretty much the same as any of the other of the named Dublin Hotels to be fair.

As for a Wedding it gives a scenic look and feel to it if thats what you are after. The deisign of the hotel both exterior and interior is beautiful. You can get some pretty decent wedding photos there. The staff are friendly and look after you well and the rooms they use are what you would expect to get for holding such an event. Some of the bedrooms in the older part are a tad small but the new section they are of decent size. Some parts can be a tad dark inside due to the lighting. But other than OP you wont regret in my opinion holding your wedding their.

and my opinion is it's average she asked why and i explained.

If one is happy to have a run of the mill average wedding then you won't go wrong in clontarf castle, not too difficult to understand.

    she is a he...BUACHAILL ????

    Thanks for your feedback
I did ask you for an explanation and I got something of one so appreciate that.
Average doesnt exactly pinpoint anything. I was more interested in what you felt made it average??
