I am 17 and really want a car, my dream nearly came true yesterday my bro got a new car and he said I could have his old car, I am jobless so can't pay for insurance so I asked me mammy and she said "do you know how much insurance and tax will cost" I replied "ah sure I wont have to pay for a car so thats a little less money to spend and she went there is no point i nearly started to cry :(The point of the thread is that I was just wondering is any way of maybe changing my mothers mind about the insurance business, something I could surprize her with that her and she might reply to as "o that sounds good" or something like that!

    Thanks

    I'm confused to be honest.

Are you looking for reasons that your mother should pay for your insurance or what?

you can pay your insurance over 12 months in instalments, this might make it sound better but you will need a job to pay for it,or a very generous mum:)
did you get quotes for insuring the car? assuming you have a provisional licence try and pass your test as soon as you can that should bring the insurance down by a few hundred,

Ya I have a part time job, but I can't save money for my life and its only for the summer:pSo I'm trying to get my mother to pay:pac:I didn't get any qoutes yet but I have a rough idea what they'll be :(If I was to get insured on her car what would the qoute be like compared to getting insurance on my own car?

I'd be very surprised if it came in under 2K, and that could be quite conservative. Try getting some online quotes for an idea.
