Hi all. Was in Croker to see Dublin beat an ok Westmeath on Sunday. No camera with me so I took a couple of shots with my iphone.

Done a panoramic when I got home in cs4 but as you can see the right hand side if the pic is "darker" than the left.

    Any way to sort this.
Have tried filters and adjustments but no luck.

    All help is most appreciated

    Thanks all

    milos

    ps first panoramic ever.....

It's temperamental. When the light is right and the phone is in the right "mood" it'll take a great shot, otherwise you're stuffed. Too much or too little light fups it up a fair bit. As a phone camera though it is quite good, despite being a bit gimped.

I was at the match too (I wouldn't have said it was an OK Westmeanth side though - they were awful... but I suppose that's not really the point here), never really thought of bringing the camera - does anyone know if they'll let you bring an SLR in?

To fix the dark side of the picture you could try the following:

    1. Duplicate layer and set overlay method to screen
    2. apply a mask to the duplicate layer and mask out the lighter part of the picture
    3. adjust the opacity slider until the two sides match

Not sure if it'll work but that's how I would try it anyway.

Also, there are some problems with the stitching, you can notice some distinct kinks in the lines - not sure if you let PS stitch it for you or you did it yourself bu I find it slightly distracting. It would probably be a lot of work getting it right though.

The reason this happened in the first place I'd say is because the Iphone camera settings are automatic so when the light was different at the other side of the stadium it affected how it all merges together. If you do one again with anything from a P&S to a DSLR use manual settings to shoot and it'll greatly reduce the chance of this happening.

This happened me with a few of my earlier panoramic attempts.

I love the panorama function on the iPhone.

Have a look at Florians 360º panoramas on Pano.ie.
Scrolling around them at first can be induce a bit of motion sickness. :)

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.
