    Hello,
    I want to move in to a flat with my boyfriend I am unemployed at the moment I am wondering am i entitled to rent allowance if i move in with my boyfriend because i am now living alone in a bedsit and have been since march and i am receiving rent allowance. I am wondering if i can get rent allowance when i move in with my boyfriend because i cannot afford to pay rent without having a job. If anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate any information, Thank you

    As far as I know, you will only be allowed to keep your rent allowance if your boyfriend is unemployed too. If either of you take on a full time job, your allowances will all be stopped. Also, whatever amount you are currently paying towards your part of the rent will change. They will take into account your boyfriends income (be it dole or whatever but not full time employment) and then will come out with a brand new figure.
