Can buliders hand over estate?

    Hi,

I was wondering if some one could give me some advice. I have been approached by my residance association for a fee towards the grass cutting. Now i have no problem paying this. The builders have been doing this since i moved in but are handing over the site as they stopped building(were supposed to bulid more but stopped cos of the "R"). All of the houses are not sold which means the Corpo wont take the estate over.

My question is can the buliders stop looking after the site even if all the houses are not sold?

    Thanks for you help.

You would need to talk to your solicitor as what the builders can and cannot do will be contained in the Contract and the Deed of Transfer.

    Thanks Max,

I didnt realise that, that info would be contained in deeds.

    Really appreciate the help.

I suspect the indemnity re roads and services which would have been furnished on closing will cover you here. But if the builder is insolvent, then I think all bets are off.

    Hi Maidhc,

sorry to sound stupid but I dont understand what you mean by indemnity re roads and service......im new to all of this. The builder is not insolvent, just feel they are trying to pull a fast one on us.
