    Print off this
    https://www.motortax.ie/OMT/pdf/RF100A_en.pdf

Then fill out part 7 and bring it to garda station to get stamped saying the car was off the road (you wont be liable for arrears)
then bring it along with your log book and get your tax.

Normally they close at half 4, open at 9 usually. Depends on the tax office.
With regards to NCT the dealer has to sort out problems under warranty anyway... so its in their best interest to get it sorted correctly. Always bring a mechanic with you. the 50 euro they'll charge will be worth the peace of mind.

Why would you do that when the OP was probably driving it.

    Not Your Ornery Onager

Motor tax offices normally close the doors to the public at 3:30pm. If you're in before that, you'll be dealt with.

Why is your renewal form out of date?

I've taxed my car after it was two months out & just paid the arrears with the full amount for the next 3-6 or 12months.

If you have the pin to tax it on-line then you should be fine. All you need is your insurance policy number & a credit or Laser card.

    Simple :D
