Can anyone give me directions to the 40 Foot swimming area, driving from the M50 direction? Also is there parking in the area?
    Thx

If you goto googlemaps and select Ireland and put in directions it might be of some advantage to you...

As for parking there can be a lot of places to park but with this weather goodluck...

Also there is sea races on today around 4:30-5pm from Dun laoghaire pier to Sandycove so it will be busy around that time as well....

Went swimming at the 40 foot last Fri. Plenty of parking on the side streets. Have to say the water was bitterly cold. I was shocked about how cold it was. Thank goodness I went on a sunny/warm day ;) Despite this really enjoyed it. Plenty of dublin teenagers jumping in and enjoying themselves to no end.......

I was there on Friday too. Cracking day for it. First time to get in on a non-christmas swim. Believe me, it's far more pleasant on days like Friday than the Christmas swims, which are an entirely different level of unpleasant!

I don't think the actual water temperature changes that much, it's just the whole getting undressed and dressed in the freezing cold that makes the difference!

The street is Sandycove Point. Should be on any online map or Dublin street atlas.
