    Hi Guys,

Been googling this and checked the linkage thread on this forum but can't find anything that looks like what i'm after.

Basically i'm looking for some free (and royalty free) drum loops for a balladish type song i have to submit ASAP the slowest BPM i have is 80 and with this particular song it's slightly too fast.

Does anyone know where i can find (free/royalty free) loops a bit slower?
    Cheers.
    C.

    Spot on.

You can download a demo of Addictive drums from XLN audio and use it forever (some limitations versus the full thing)

The beats load up as loops within Logic or whatever DAW you have and they can be edited away to your hearts content.

As Sean says, these will play at the pace of your song.

    Thanks for the reply guys,

    How would i do that?

I actually had the demo version of addictive drums and was able to slow the loops with that by changing the BPM grid in Reaper (which is what i'm using) but the AD demo stopped working and has never allowed me to uninstall it (even though it comes with an uninstall option...it just doesn't work).

Is there a way to actually slow down a normal .wav drum loop?

ive never used reaper so this hopefully will be useable in reaper.

okay so set your project to the tempo you want, lets say 60bpm.

so now the grid is set up for a 60bpm song.

your loop is either a 4,8,16,32 bar loop however since its original tempo is 80 it wont fit into the grid perfectly.

so what i do in logic is set up the marquee to loop whatever my drum loop is.if its an 8 bar loop ill make the marquee loop for 8 bars(if its a 16 bar loop ill set it to 16 etc etc)

now in logic there is an option hat says adjust to region locators.basically itll squash or stretch the 80bpm 8 bar loop into a 60bpm 8 bar loop.

like i said i think most daws have this ability although it might be worded differently

Sorry man still learning all this stuff what do you mean by 'set up the marquee'?

what i've done to slove the problem for the moment is split the loop up and manually shift the points on it to fit 70bpm (pretty simple loop so not to hard to do in the end...just had to get a bit mathematical with the grids) but i'd prefer to do it the way you mentioned.

    Thanks

the marquee is basically the grid at the top of logics sequencer(and every other daw.

its the green region in this pic

in the pic i have it doing an 8 bar loop.

Think the pitch will shift in reaper.

slow down the loop, buy liveslice for chopping - excellent if your working with software, although i dont do it, i wouldnt be worried too much about royalty fees from drum loops -i think its non existent, amen break for example

do you have any drum kits?
why not just construct your own drum loops from scratch,(bd,hi hats, toms etc etc) and that way you can make loop you like, and youll be able to speed it up and down or whatever you like really.

if you have a drum kit(ableton,or reason or whatever music program you are using,go start making stuff from scratch.)

    itll be well,well worth it.
