You need a medical degree to even begin training to be a neurologist.

So you'd have to go to medschool.

or, do your undergraduate degree in psychology, do the 3 yr PhD in Clinical Psychology, then specialise in neuropsychology.

I dont quite think taht is the same though Julius

Neurologist and neuropschologist hve different roles

fro example- neurologist in treating MS may prescribe medication or may place people on a trial of a new drug to improve condition- neuropsyhcologist may not

I would have thought neuropsychology was a lot closer to psychiatry to be honest as NEUROLOGY is a very clinical medical specialty about detailed examination and anatomy which I am not sure would be part of a neuropsychology PHD program

I know that, drzhivago, but I was guessing from the original post that the OP may be a bit confused - like the many who confuse psychologists with psychiatrists. I'm not a neuropsychologist but I have referred people to them, mainly for functional assessments after ABI.

............I believe there are quite a few psychologists who will be looking for prescribing privilages - just like the States. It'll be a long time coming though!

Then he may be a Dr Dr Dr ie
dr of Psychology Medical Doctor and if he does further research MD is psychology now that would be amusing
