    Hi,
I'm currently trying to configure DVBdream to work with my usb tuner ( WANDTV from dealextreme). I have the stick working with VLC and getting great picture quality.
I'm receiving my picture off Spur Hill CH45.
Could somebody please give me some guidance as to where I'm going wrong as I can find no channels when i scan Ch45.
Screenshots of your setting would be a great help.

    Thanks in advance,
    Willie.

I have the same device and DVBdream is problematic for me too, a better option is Alt-DVB v2.2 and the bda wrapper from here along with ffdshow for audio and video decoding, works great for me and it's all free

Parasite - Thanks for all your help and the links. Have it all up and working now - well pleased with the result.
Have you managed to get the remote working - that's the last hurdle I'm struggling with .
    Thanks again

Hi, I am trying to setup ALT-DVB and am having a problem with video decoders not being Directshow known, which one did you use?
I also have GB-PVR installed and it uses Cyberlink H.264 witout problem, but GB-PVR doesn't seem to find the radio stations. Any ideas?

    Hi

Do you need Visual C++ to install ALTDvb? I keep getting DvBAvSrc: Missing message.

    Thanks

    Hi

I keep getting the error please configure direct show in atl-dvb. does anyone know how i can fix this?

Right click on the video panel , select DS Config and select the appropriate H264 codec, video renderer and audio codec. IF the codec isn't listed, the Settings->DirectShow->Filters and delete any existing h264 filters and add the new one. Go back into DS Config to select the newly added filter.

You need to have either PowerDVD8 or CoreAVC installed

Did you manage to get sorted glinelli ?

To get mine to work I had to change the pin inp to input and the pin out to output as opposed to video in/ video out

    Hi

Managed to get it working after i installed PowerDVD8.

    Thanks

I have the same tuner from DX and now have it working perfectly with AltDvb. The tiny little aeriel is also sufficient, getting 100% Signal but im only a mile from the mast.

I had been trying to use WindowsMediaCentre built into the Win7 RC but it was flaky to say the least. very nice interface so pity it dosen't work correctly.

I'm trying to set up Altdvb myself and I felt this thread has some relevant info even if it's a year old.

I am trying to find some codecs to work with audio and video but I've had no joy. Rather, I'm trying to get altdvb to work with the codecs but I can't manage it. There are lists of codecs in the filters tab of directshow settings, as shown above. But the DVB: Graph-H264 window has options for video and audio decoder, which are blank and don't allow me to select anything! I have different codecs installed on the computer but I don't know how to get altdvb to use the likes of powerDVD's H.264 codec etc.

    Any pointers would be helpful!

Altdvb is pretty old now and todays H264 codec's might need added to it using graph edit, I never done it so can't give any pointers. There is a modded version of altdvb with additional codec and tuner surrport added to it , it's called "ALTDVB 3.4 sat4all version" if you google it you'll find it on some non-english websites , also google "hdpack 2.2" it might help.

ALTDVB 3.4 sat4all is the offical release of altdvb (version 2.2 I think) with some extra codec graphs and card support added by people other than the developer.

DVBDream is considered by many as it's replacement, it went shareware recently but the free version 1.4 can still be downloaded at videohelp.com - http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVB_Dream

    I hope this helps
