nothing wrong with the bike but looking at the spec dont be fooled by the sale price i think is probably worth £450 if it fits it'll do until you get sucked ino the upgrade whirlwind

Whats a good roadbike to aim for starting out then?

really i think for starting out there is no point paying less than 1000, for 1000 you will get a good starting bike that will probably be a bit too good for you but will last you a few years and help you enjoy cycling , bikes tend to begin to be good at this price range and the jump in quality between a 700 bike and a 1000 is usually massive.

    would recommend,

    canyon
    orbea
    focus
    boardman
    trek "* although overpiced.

    Thanks,

    I ended up ordering this

A Lapierre R-Lite 200. Got Bike, helmet, shoes & pedals for €760. That is the end of the budget so I am happy. I am a newbie to cycling so it should be plenty to get me started.
